Friday the 13th seemed like the perfect time to drop a Black IPA.

It’s a day for the spirits of our past to come have a little fun. And there’s no better way to honor this day than a nod to one of the kings of the macabre, Edgar Allan Poe.

Ulalume is light-bodied and dry with flavors of grapefruit, spearmint, and a light amount of chocolate. 6.5% abv and ghoulishly good!

A bit about the name:
Ulalume is a poem by Edgar Allan Poe. A signed copy of it can be found at the @pvdath. The meaning of the poem is that if emotions of the past are not resolved, they will come back to haunt and torment. The narrator is still so devastated by the death of his lover one year before that he subconsciously wanders physically and mentally, looking for her. There are multiple accounts of a man in a period-esque black coat visiting Swan Point Cemetery and aimlessly strolling Benefit Street at dusk. People say it’s Edgar Allan Poe’s ghost.

Hootenanny is now in the cooler alongside Guggenmusik and The Subtle Art of Pumpkining the World.

Brewed with German specialty malts, this Festbier has aromas of toasty, doughy malt balanced perfectly with lemon and floral notes from the American Meridian hops. Drinks light and crisp with toast flavors and moderate citrus, berry, and floral hop notes.

The Subtle Art of Pumpkining the World is back and tasting like fall is almost here! This beer pours a gorgeous deep amber with a light tan foam and harvest-heavy aromas of baking spice, bready yeast, and fresh-carved pumpkin. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation and notes of cinnamon and pumpkin, reminiscent of freshmade pumpkin bread, with a subtle lingering sweetness on the back palate. 6% abv. Available today.
